With the third installment of Jon Foreman's seasonal EPs, the music is still going strong, not to mention the way that Foreman manages to make the whole album sound how one would imagine Spring. The EP opens with the first duet on Foreman's independent releases. Molly Jensen, a young lady who has performed with Foreman before, lends her pen and her voice to the opening song "March", a song with Mariachi band overtones, that at first sounds out of place with the rest of Foreman's releases, but after a few listens grew and seemed to fit right in. The EP continues with two more female guest background vocalists in the strongest song on the album "Love Isn't Made". The song begins with a beautiful intro and Foreman's voice carries the song, along with the lyrical genius we have come to expect from Switchfoot's frontman, Foreman uses the song to take a sharp look at love and those who love. The album turns to a soft love song, "In My Arms", before moving onto an upbeat song that leads the remainder of the EP into more worshipful songs. As expected, Foreman brings his beliefs firmly across in the EPs two remaining songs, "Your Love Is Strong", a song version of the Lord's Prayer (amongst Foreman's personal prayers), and "Revenge", a song previously released, unofficially, through Foreman's band, Switchfoot's website. Both songs are heavily religious and very lyrically strong. 'Spring' has a nice bounce that the previous EPs lacked, perhaps due to the songs modeled after it's namesake. It's a great addition to the previous seasons. If acoustic music is your taste, then Jon Foreman is for you. His solo career lacks the rock and roll luster of Switchfoot, but brings forth an honesty that's hard to hate.
