Finally, a band with an honest, open and thoughtful sound, free from the burning desire to be what's in, or be the tough guys, Sleepaway is a band who plays from the heart, a band who plays for the people. Their press sheet describes them as sounding reminiscent or Goo Goo Dolls or The Gin Blossoms, where as the latter is a little more accurate, I place them in the ranks of Sherwood, Jimmy Eat World, or even Lobster Records Park.

Sleepaway is a breath of fresh air in a city blanketed in smog, combining dead on point drumming, beautiful guitars and vocals that would make Chris Carraba jealous, Sleepaway cast aside the hardcore image of Buffalo, New York to offer up an emotional storybook of love, life and loss the likes of which have not been seen in long, long time. Sleepaway has been creating a huge buzz and a rather big (and famous) fan base, I'm just glad I found out about them now before they blow up and charge $40 for their shows. If you're sick off all the crap out there that sounds exactly the same, pick this up!
